Yoga
Dahab is the centre of Yoga in the near East. Yoga found its natural home in Dahab when, not long ago, it was a real hippy and hang out for alternative living. Today there are more and more yoga courses and classes going on. We can recommend two types: Ashtanga Yoga and Kundalini Yoga
Why Yoga?
Many people start yoga as a way to do something for themselves. Many are working purely on a physical level, wanting to improve their health or recover from an injury or illness. Others are looking for inner balance, and a way to reduce stress and take time out; yet more are in search of their spiritual path. In order to accommodate all of these individual goals, each class must take every student into consideration. This is the goal, essence and promise of yoga. Yoga is a way to connect with yourself and at the same time is a way to help people find their way to better health, peace and clarity, and help them become more aware of looking after themselves and others.
Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtanga is a dynamic, powerful form of yoga, traditionally studied and taught in Mysore, South India. The Asanas (postures) are practiced as a fixed series, with each posture flowing into the next. This creates a harmonious flow of movement, which promotes core stability, flexibility, and increased physical and emotional sense of wellbeing, and increases the ability to concentrate and relax. There are six series of increasing complexity.
Ashtanga Yoga is suitable for everyone who enjoys physical exercise, and also wants to integrate a meditative aspect of yoga into their workout. Beginners and less confident students of all ages are welcome, as are more experienced yoga practitioners.

Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is a way to stimulate the latent energy with the body and to actively use this energy. Central to Kundalini Yoga is physical training of muscle groups through dynamic exercises, combined with special breathing techniques. The metabolism is stimulated, the nervous system is strengthened and the ability to relax is developed, helping Kundalini students reduce stress. The exercises are physically demanding, building stamina and cardio-vascular fitness, and often result in an intense connection with the physical self. By challenging yourself, you’ll develop your confidence and awareness of your potential. Each class also works on breathing techniques and meditation.
Sara is a qualified Kundalini Yoga teacher. She studied in the UK and has worked in London, and run retreats in Greece. She teaches in English, German and Dutch.
